Blender Can Do Simulations With Bullet Physics

Besides the Blender modelling software and game engine being ported to Android with OpenGL ES rendering support, another interesting GSoC project for this popular open-source project was Bullet Physics Library integration.

The aim for integrating Bullet Physics into Blender is that the animation/modelling software can now directly do simulations with Bullet compared to the status quo of having to push it through the Blender Game Engine for such capabilities. This Bullet simulations support for Blender originally began two years ago as a Google Summer of Code 2010 project but was then revived this summer.

More information on this Blender-Bullet integration can be found from this Wiki page while embedded below is a lengthy video that highlights some of the progress and possibilities now offered by using Bullet for simulations within the open-source modelling/animation software.
