While many are looking forward to the release of Lightworks for Linux next month, if you need a high-quality feature-rich non-linear video editor on Linux until then one of the few choices out there is Cinelerra.

Cinelerra was updated last week to its version 4.4 milestone. Features of this first Cinelerra update in more than one year include a faster startup, improved responsiveness, an audio oscilloscope, histogram updates, audio gap removal support, better recording support from web-cameras, better live audio processing, and a bright theme for outdoor use.

The Cinelerra video editing software continues to be released under the GPL and has been under development now for more than ten years.

Cinelerra 4.4 is available from Heroine Virtual.
