WAYLAND
For those interested in Wayland, Qt, and 3D, there's an interesting new Wayland compositor out in the wild. This compositor renders a 3D maze using Qt and brings in some Wolfenstein 3D elements while allowing Wayland surfaces to be rendered on the walls.

While this new "maze" compositor for Wayland likely won't see much in the way of real-world use besides being an interesting Qt-based solution for demos and for showing off Qt capabilities on Wayland, it is one of the most original Wayland-based demos to date.

The Wayland Maze compositor simply "showcases the use of qtwayland's compositor API for creating a 3D wayland compositor. The soldier images are from the Wolfenstein 3D Texture Library." During the video demo embedded below, there's Wiggly, a terminal, Qt Creator, and other Wayland surfaces being rendered to the walls of this Qt 3D maze.

Those wanting to check out the source-code to this new Qt Wayland compositor you can find the code on GitHub.
