WAYLAND
Igalia has accelerated WebKitGTK+ and Epiphany to work atop Wayland with the reference Weston compositor.

While WebKitGTK+ with Epiphany was easy to get working for running non-3D web-sites, for handling OpenGL code from the web browser required some manuevering. However, José Dapena was successful in getting a working version for handling WebGL and accelerated composition of layers (CSS-3D transformations, etc).

For those interested in the technical details of what it took to make WebKitGTK+ acceleration work under Wayland with the Epiphany web-browser, see this Igalia blog post.
