Motif 2.3.4 On The LGPL License
Integrated Computer Solutions released Motif 2.3.4 this week and with the point release comes the availability of the X toolkit under the LGPL v2.1 license.
ICS describes Motif 2.3.4 as a "major bug fix release" with many fixes being noted from the release notes.
Motif was formally closed-source and there was the also LGPL-licensed LessTif project that sprung up to implement the toolkit's API, but now we have the official implementation and with binaries for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Fedora, and Ubuntu. The source-code to the Motif X11 tool-kit is available for download from SourceForge.
