Last week Adobe open-sourced their CFF rasterizer engine -- in conjunction with Google -- for use by FreeType. Now FreeType 2.4.12 has been released to ship these CFF font improvements.

FreeType 2.4.12 features the new parsing and hinting engine for CFF fonts thanks to Adobe and Google. This is the result of several months worth of work since Adobe decided to open-source the engine. The ftview and ftdiff FreeType programs have also been improved in this release.

More details on the FreeType 2.4.12 changes can be found from the release notes.
