A pleasant and welcome change since this year's X.Org Foundation election is the return of meeting summaries for providing board members and the stakeholding desktop community with the results of each bi-weekly meeting.

While I don't always see eye to eye with some of the decisions of the X.Org Foundation, worthy of being pointed out and applauded is the revival of the X.Org Foundation Board of Directors' meeting summaries. In particular, kudos to Peter Hutterer, the X Input expert who was elected this year and is now serving as the X.Org Foundation secretary.

Meeting summaries have been done in the past, but they disappeared at the beginning of 2011 and only started again last month. The full IRC meeting logs in the past have also been slow to be posted at times, while in past months this has been somewhat compounded by the poor X.Org server Wiki infrastructure. These meeting summaries written by Peter have been concise and to the point, saving much time of reading through all of the IRC logs manually for each meeting, which is generally held every other Thursday. This meeting information has been posted same-day and also with notifications bounced off the X.Org mailing list.
