For those that haven't yet tried out the Ubuntu Phone first hand by loading it onto one of the supported devices, here's a video of the latest Ubuntu Phone version on the Galaxy Nexus smart-phone.

Jono Bacon, the Ubuntu Community Manager at Canonical, has posted a video today showing the Ubuntu Phone receiving a call and text, using the web-browser, current social networking support, multi-tasking, running a number of Ubuntu Phone apps, and other tasks.

Canonical wants a working Ubuntu Phone software release by year's end. The Ubuntu Phone is certainly making progress on the software front, but it remains to be seen what phone vendors will actually ship Ubuntu-loaded devices and whether Canonical will be able to gain any traction in the consumer marketplace.
