For those curious how the Mesa 3D graphics library started and evolved from there into now a critical piece of the open-source Linux desktop, here's the story.

Mesa project founder Brian Paul presented at the X.Org Developers' Conference 2013 this week about it being roughly twenty years since he began work on this open-source OpenGL library that's now widely used not only by Linux operating systems but various other platforms too.

Brian has uploaded PDF slides for those interested in the twenty year history of this important open-source 3D graphics project and embedded below is the YouTube recording.
