WAYLAND
The release of Wayland 1.3 and the reference Weston 1.3 compositor is near.

Kristian Høgsberg announced the 1.3 RC2 versions of Wayland and Weston last night. Over the earlier release candidate there are some important touch event fixes, weston-launch rewrite fallout has been addressed, and some other changes made it in. Kristian still is planning to pull a Raspberry Pi EGL patch and perhaps some crasher bug-fixes before releasing Wayland 1.3 final.

Kristian is hoping to be able to release Wayland/Weston 1.3 on Friday, but pending the ongoing work it could end up being next week before the latest Wayland release occurs. The release announcement can be read on the Wayland-devel mailing list. Wayland 1.3 features will be covered in a separate Phoronix article about to be posted.
