WAYLAND
RealVNC has proposed a new remote access interface for Wayland's Weston compositor to support remote desktop solutions like VNC, RDP, etc.

At the beginning of August I wrote about RealVNC wanting to support Wayland and now the VNC-focused company has publicly unveiled their first fruits of the work: a remote access interface to Weston that would allow solutions like their remote access software to be efficiently implemented in a post-X11 world.

The remote access interface allows spawning remote capture and remoate seat interfaces. The remote capture support allows a particular output to be captured via memory region and screen activity then reflected when output changes and simply sending over the wire the changed/damaged area. The remote seat interfae allows injecting input events to Weston and can allow for multiple remote seats and other configuration possibilities.

The details in full on RealVNC's proposal for a remote access interface to Wayland's Weston can be found on the Wayland-devel mailing list.
