Tom Stellard of AMD has published a new post enabling the R600/SI LLVM GPU back-end to handle Radeon HD 8000 "Sea Islands" GPGPU/Compute support.

With Sea Islands just building upon the Radeon HD 7000 "Southern Islands" architecture that already has LLVM compute support, the patch enabling the HD 8000 "CI" / "Sea Islands" support is quite small. The work enables OpenCL/compute for AMD Bonaire, Kabini, and Kaveri hardware in conjunction with the RadeonSI Gallium3D driver and the "Clover" state tracker.

The CI R600/SI LLVM compute support patch can be found on LLVM-commits and should be found in LLVM 3.4 when released around the end of the year.
