For those with AMD Radeon HD 8000 "Sea Islands" graphics processors, the AMD GPU back-end inside LLVM now contains better support for this hardware.

Building upon earlier work, the Clang compiler front-end now has support for Sea Islands GPUs. Meanwhile, the AMD R600 LLVM GPU back-end has Sea Islands Compute Support.

These changes will be part of the upcoming LLVM 3.4 release and need to be paired with the Mesa 10.0 code-base for proper Radeon HD 8000 "Sea Islands" open-source support and a modern version of the Linux kernel.
