UBUNTU
Bloomberg LP has come forward as the only corporate backer to date of the Ubuntu Edge smart-phone project.

Canonical announced today that Bloomberg LP is the first corporate backer of the crowd-funded Ubuntu Edge project. The financial institution is pledging to buy 100 Ubuntu Edge smart-phones as part of an enterprise bundle at a cost of $80,000 USD.

While Bloomberg has committed $80,000 to the campaign, it's looking more and more unlikely each day that the Edge will reach its funding goal. There's just 14 days left of the month-long campaign to raise $32 million dollars to build this converged mobile device that supports Ubuntu Phone OS and Android. Right now they have just a little more than a quarter of the funds raised, at $8.47 million dollars -- three million of that was raised in the first day.

More details on Bloomberg's commitment and other campaign information can be found via the IndieGoGo update page.
