Ryan Gordon Makes Linux Version Of 1Password

Ryan "Icculus" Gordon has spent some of his Christmas coming up with a basic, open-source Linux version of 1Password. The 1Password program is a popular desktop and mobile app for generating strong, random passwords and serving as a secure wallet for storing the passwords.

The well-known Linux game porter Ryan Gordon is a big fan of the 1Password program, but it's not natively available for Linux: there's just a web-based Dropbox version for 1Password on Linux. As a result, Ryan spent some of his Christmas day coding a basic Linux version of 1Password.

Ryan's unofficial Linux version of 1Password is called 1Pass and just reads an existing 1Password keychain and supports the hot-key combination used by the official program to get the encrypted keychain. Ryan says there's still lots of work to do but he's already posted the code and is ready to share it with the world.
