Gedit 3.11.2 has been released as the latest development version of GNOME's text editor in the lead-up to the GNOME 3.12 release in March. This latest version of Gedit brings a brand new user-interface to better interface with GNOME 3's human interface guidelines.

Gedit 3.11.2 refreshes the main user-interface and " radically changing the [way the] user interacts with the UI." The new UI is meant to be cleaner, has a new menu bar layout, a side-panel implementation, tab improvements, and much more.

Those wanting to see screenshots of the new Gedit 3.11.2 GNOME text editor can see some -- along with commentary on the new UI -- at worldofgnome.org. The list of changes for Gedit 3.11.2 can be found via the project's Git repository.
