Enlightenment E19 Keeps Getting Improved
The latest work on Enlightenment E19 includes a PackageKit module and many bug-fixes.
Earlier this month I wrote about a huge rewrite of Enlightenment's Compositor and other improvements coming for Enlightenment E19. Since then, more work has continued to land for the E19 update that should be officially released before the end of 2014.
Written this week via the E19 release manager blog was another status update for this popular, lightweight window manager / desktop.
Among the recent work was a PackageKit module for easy access to PackageKit-based package management, Ibar menu improvements, improved input accuracy for border-less windows, options for screen wake-ups on various events, and many fixes throughout.
E19 is already very fascinating for its compositor rewrite and improved Wayland support plus other changes but with this update not likely coming until Q4'2014, there's still many months ahead where we'll see even more great work from this open-source project.
