Debian's technical committee is back to having another vote on what should be the default init system for the operating system going forward.

For months now the Debian technical committee has been deciding what init system to adopt for Debian Jessie and going forward. The main contenders are between systemd and Upstart but other contenders and options have been proposed. This has been a very hot topic and for a while it's looked like committee members have been leaning in favor of systemd. Last month there was an initial tech-ctte vote on the matter but that vote didn't end up panning out and the matter has remain undecided.

Ian Jackson has now a short while ago called for a new round of voting on the init system discussion. Stay tuned to Phoronix to see how the voting concludes.
