Experimental Ubuntu Touch Emulator Unveiled

Canonical's Ricardo Salveti de Araujo announced this morning the release of an experimental Ubuntu Touch Emulator. This emulator for the Ubuntu-focused tablet/phone version is complete with the Unity 8 user-interface and is running on the Mir display server.

The first release of the public Ubuntu Touch Emulator was uploaded, as announced on the ubuntu-phone list. The Android package contains the first functional version, complete with Unity 8 and Mir.

Those wanting to try out the Ubuntu Touch Emulator can follow the instructions on this Ubuntu Wiki page and it's recommended to be running Ubuntu 14.04 development packages.
