Mutter Wayland has been updated for the forthcoming development release of GNOME 3.11.2. The main feature with this Mutter Wayland update is support for Wayland sub-surfaces.

The changes in Mutter Wayland 3.11.2 that arrived this week including syncing the keymap from X to Wayland, support for sub-surfaces, fixed resize operations using the mouse-button-modifier, fixed positioning with client side decorated windows, and other bug-fixes.

Sub-surfaces was recently added to the Wayland core protocol after being a Weston-only compositor feature for months. Wayland sub-surfaces have a variety of special use-cases including windowed OpenGL applications and video players.

More details on Mutter Wayland 3.11.2 are available from the mailing list announcement.
