WAYLAND
The first version 1.5 release candidates of Wayland and the Weston compositor are now available.

Kristian Høgsberg announced today the first release candidates for Wayland/Weston 1.5. Kristian noted, "We're at a historic low in terms of open bugs - as of this writing we have 15 bugs in wayland/weston bugzilla. There are a few more bugs we can fix and I expect more will come in as we start testing, but right now it's looking pretty good."

A second release candidate of Wayland/Weston 1.5 is expected in about one week and then release Wayland 1.5 and Weston 1.5 in the following week. If everything goes really well and in fact bug-free, Wayland/Weston 1.5 could be released next week!

Kristian mentioned these details within the Wayland-devel list.

Wayland/Weston 1.5 features the new XWayland DDX support, full-screen shell protocol, libinput support, and a ton of other changes over the past ~3 months of development. Look for Wayland 1.5 later this month!
