Just one week after the Enlightenment 1.9 alpha series surfaced, the 1.9.0-beta1 pre-release is now available for users of the lightweight Enlightenment window manager / desktop.

Enlightenment E19 will have many changes as covered in numerous Phoronix articles from Wayland support to a compositor rewrite to library improvements. Today's 1.9.0-beta1 pre-release brings the betas for EGL, Elementary, Emotion, and Evas. In the past week, a handful of bugs have been corrected. Enlightenment itself for this release is still at version 0.18.4.

More details on the bugs fixed in this release can be found at Enlightenment.org.
