Going along with new releases of GTK+, Epiphany, WebKitGTK+, and other updated packages for this week's GNOME 3.12 Beta, the GNOME Shell 3.11.90 release is now available.

Among many changes found in GNOME Shell 3.11.90 is support for making NetworkManager optional, making the middle-click button open a new instance, support for scaling the UI on high-resolution displays, an improved app picker transition, a geolocation indicator in the status menu, improved network menus, a VPN Setting in the VPN sub-menu, improved appearance for disclosure arrows, support for offline updates in the shutdown dialog, animated tile previews, and many bug-fixes.

Overall, GNOME Shell 3.12 -- and GNOME 3.12 at large -- is shaping up to be an excellent update out of the GNOME camp with features ranging from much better Wayland support to new Shell features to many improved desktop components. With this Git commit you can find more details from GNOME Shell 3.11.90.

GNOME 3.12 will be officially released in just over one month.
