The second and last planned release candidate to the major Mesa 10.1 graphics stack release is now available.

Ian Romanick announced Mesa 10.1 RC2 on Friday night with hopes of still releasing Mesa 10.1 officially on next Friday, 28 February.

The brief Mesa 10.1 release announcement can be read on the Mesa mailing list.

There's already been many articles and benchmarks on Mesa 10.1 at Phoronix while if you're just getting situated with the new release it's worth checking out our top features for Mesa 10.1 -- in particular the Radeon and Nouveau drivers now having OpenGL 3.3 compliance, among lots of other good work that's accumulated over the past three months of development. Of course, we're also already getting well acquainted with Mesa 10.2 that is already in the early stages of development with new features.
