Clutter 1.18 Released With Many New Features

Version 1.18 of the Clutter tool-kit has been released ahead of this month's GNOME 3.12 debut. Clutter 1.18 brings with it some prominent changes.

Among the highlights of the Clutter 1.18 tool-kit release include:

- New APIs have been added to Clutter for writing Wayland compositors. There's also improvements in the evdev input back-end and E GL windowing back-end to help the Wayland support. There's also logind integration and support for communicating directly with KMS/DRM drivers.

- Automatic window scaling support for high DPI density (HiDPI) displays for automatically scaling windowing system resources.

- Improved gestures support.

- Improved RTL language support.

- Many bug-fixes.
