The seventh version of ownCloud has been released this morning with some interesting new features for this personal, open-source cloud software.

Frank Karlitschek announced the ownCloud 7 release this morning and his most exciting feature with this release is server-to-server sharing: being able to share a folder with another ownCloud instance. Initially this server sharing is just for folders but in the future will likely be extended for other data types. OwnCloud 7 is also said to have improvements to the user-interface and greater response times.

More on ownCloud 7 can be learned from the ownCloud 7 release announcement and Frank Karlitschek's blog.
