Blender 2.71 has improvements to Cycles Rendering, animation enhancements, modelling improvements, new features for sculpting/painting, freestyle NPR rendering, UI enhancements, and much more. On the Cycles Rendering front is support for rendering volume textures, fire and smoke, deformation motion blur, and other materials.
