KDE 4.14 Applications & Development Platform Beta Released

The first beta of KDE with new releases for the applications and development platform is now available for the 4.14 release cycle.

KDE 4.14 is now under a dependency and feature freeze as the last planned major update to the KDE4 platform. Succeeding KDE 4.14 by the end of the year should be a mixed KDE release that includes applications supporting KDE Frameworks 5 while KDE 4.14 is the last "hoorah" for KDE4.

Those wishing to find out more about KDE 4.14 Beta 1 can find the release announcement at KDE.org. The official release of KDE 4.14 is tentatively scheduled to arrive on 20 August.
