Following in the foot steps of the FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASE, PC-BSD 10.1-RELEASE is now available along with the server-oriented TrueOS spin.

PC-BSD 10.1 pulls in the FreeBSD 10.1 changes while adding in its own desktop-oriented goodness. The PC-BSD 10.1 release f eatures KDE 4.14.2 along with GNOME 3.12.2 and Cinnamon 2.2.16. Among the new changes to PC-BSD 10.1 is an AppCafe HTML5 web/remote interface, CentOS 6.6 Linux emulation base, new HostAP mode for WiFi GUI programs, UEFI support for booting and installation, automatic tuning of ZFS memory usage at install-time, support for full-disk GELI encryption, and plenty of other changes.

TrueOS 10.1 meanwhile is PC-BSD's server edition that features a text-based installer that uses FreeBSD 10.1 while defaulting to a ZFS root installation, command-line versions of PC-BSD utilities, support for the AppCafe web-interface, and support for full-disk encryption.

More details on the PC-BSD/TrueOS 10.1 releases can be found at PCBSD.org. Stay tuned for updated FreeBSD/PC-BSD 10.1 updates in the near future.
