As a follow up to yesterday's Phoronix article about BioShock Infinite looking like its headed to Linux, it's now been confirmed by 2K Games.

The folks at 2K Games have confirmed that BioShock Infinite will be released for Linux in early 2015. More details are expected in January.

Official confirmation from 2K Games -- the publisher of BioShock Infinite -- came on Friday evening via Twitter.

BioShock Infinite is powered by Unreal Engine 3 and was released last year for Windows followed by a Mac OS X port and releases for the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3.

Now Linux gamers just need to hope that the graphics drivers will be in good shape for the game...
