The latest Linux excitement of today, which earlier seemed like an early Christmas, is the release of systemd 218.

Systemd 218 brings various systemctl improvements, an embedded chassis type for hostnamed, an edit command for systemctl, journald and journalctl additions, a native PPPoE library for sd-network, bustctl additions, udev hwdb contains DPI information now for mice, a new systemd-machine-id-commit.service, and various other enhancements and additions throughout the growing systemd landscape.

As of writing the systemd 218 announcement has yet to officially appear on the mailing lists by Lennart, but this Git commit to systemd details all of the noteworthy changes.
