After a one day week delay due to older drivers/GPUs breaking on the newer Mesa code, Mesa 10.4 was officially released this Sunday morning.

Mesa 10.4 delivers many changes and new features including but not limited to "Gallium Nine" as a Direct3D 9 state tracker, various OpenGL 4 extensions have been implemented, AMD HyperZ is back to being enabled by default, Clover/OpenCL improvements, geometrys haders for Intel Sandy Bridge hardware, significant Freedreno Gallium3D improvements, and a wide variety of other improvements as outlined in dozens of Mesa 10.4 articles on Phoronix.

Emil Velikov's basic Mesa 10.4 release announcement can be read on the Mesa mailing list. OpenGL 4.0 compliance wasn't reached for Mesa 10.4 but there's hope in the next three months that OpenGL 4.0~4.2 will be achieved that will lead Mesa 10.5 to being re-branded as Mesa 11.0.
