X-Video Support For The Mode-Setting DDX Driver
The xf86-video-modesetting DDX driver that provides generic hardware support as long as there's an underlying DRM/KMS driver now has X-Video support when using GLAMOR.
In a rather trivial commit by Keith Packard, the xf86-video-modesetting driver has a patch for enabling X-Video acceleration when using GLAMOR acceleration -- 2D/Xv acceleration provided over OpenGL in a generic manner. The new VC4-based Raspberry Pi driver is using xf86-video-modesetting as its default X.Org driver rather than shipping a custom DDX as are other drivers also probing this modesetting driver for its simpler and unified implementation with most of the interesting Linux graphics driver work happening these days just inside Gallium3D/Mesa and DRM/KMS.
The patch can currently be found on xorg-devel. The xf86-video-modesetting DDX driver was this year merged into the X.Org Server code-base as a built-in driver so this Xv-provided-by-GLAMOR support in this driver will be found for the next release, X.Org Server 1.18.
