In time to manage your digital camera photos this Christmas and New Year, digiKam 4.6.0 was officially released today.

The digiKam Software Collection 4.6 release offers many bug fixes to the image editor and batch queue manager. There's also many other bug-fixes found with today's update. The next bug-fix release for digiKam 4.x is planned in 2015.

These digiKam releases haven't been particularly exciting as work is going in parallel in porting this digital camera photo management software to KDE Frameworks 5 and Qt5. Details on digiKam's porting to KF5 and Qt5 can be found via this KDE.org Techbase Wiki page.

More information concerning digiKam 4.6 is available from digiKam.org.
