LINUX GAMING
As expected after the announcement earlier this week, the highly anticipated Civilization: Beyond Earth game is now officially available for Linux and SteamOS.

Aspyr Media has completed their port of Civilization: Beyond Earth to Linux, several weeks after the OS X debut. As of a short time ago today, the Linux version is available on Steam. Right now the game is 40% off on Steam as part of their winter sale.

Those wishing to play Civilization: Beyond Earth on Linux will certainly want to be using the very latest graphics drivers -- especially if you're using the open-source Mesa/Gallium3D drivers, the Git code would be highly recommended. Unfortunately I'm not aware of any automated benchmark capability built into Beyond Earth, so there's no ability to run any GPU/driver comparisons for those interested in knowing how well this port performs for the various Linux system configurations.
