Linux 3.19-rc3 Is A Quiet Release Coming One Day Late

Linus Torvalds released the Linux 3.19-rc3 kernel on Monday following a one-day delay -- not due to bugs/regressions but rather due to spending his weekend tiling a bathroom.

Linux 3.19-rc3 is out and he describes this weekly development kernel update as being "reasonably calm" and hoping that Linux 3.19 continues looking good. The changes for the past eight days aren't too scary and we'll hopefully see the official Linux 3.19 kernel release not too far away. Of course, the changes might also be light due to employed developers likely just returning to work this week after Christmas and New Years.

The Linux 3.19 kernel is looking good and is over 19.1 million lines of code with Linux 3.19 bringing many new features. Linux 3.19 will likely be released around early to mid February.
