FOSDEM 2015 Is Less Than One Month Away

FOSDEM 2015 is happening in Brussels from 31 January to 1 February.

The Free, Open-Source Developers' European Meeting (FOSDEM) remains one of the best open-source/Linux events in the world! It's a terrific event for hearing technical talks on a wide-range of software projects, drinking beers with developers, and discussing other open-source matters. While being arguably the best open-source event, it's free to attend and all are welcome.

If you're going to be around Belgium at the end of January, FOSDEM is an event worth checking out! I've been to many FOSDEM events in the past, though to much sadness this will be the second year again I won't be there in person due to budget cuts / tight ad revenues last quarter. Of course, one of my favorite aspects of FOSDEM is X@FOSDEM -- the room where all of the technical talks pertaining to X.Org, Mesa, Wayland, and Linux graphics happen. It's now known as the graphics dev room and the 2015 schedule was posted. Among the interesting graphics talks this year is X11 on the web using Google Native Client, sync points with the Intel graphics driver, testing OpenGL drivers with free software, native Direct3D 9 on Mesa, supporting Nouveau on the Tegra K1, and replacing Xorg input drivers with libinput. While I won't be there in person, I will try to get my hands on the slides from all of the graphics talks to be able to cover the interesting points on Phoronix.
