More Intel Graphics Changes Get Queued For Linux 3.20
David Airlie on Friday merged the drm-intel-next-2014-12-19 Git code. With this latest set of Intel DRM patches is plane handling refactoring in preparation for more atomic mode-setting work to land, docbook coverage for frame-buffer compression, prep work for dual-link DSI support, CRC fixes, GGTT updates, shadow patch copying for the command parser, and execlist and full PPGTT support has been enabled by default for Broadwell "Gen8" graphics hardware.
The enabling of execlist and PPGTT is just done for testing now and might be reverted before the Linux 3.20 merge window or its official release in a few months time. The PPGTT enablement was tried for Linux 3.19 but partially reverted due to problems. Per-Process Graphics Translation Tables is a feature supported by modern Intel HD Graphics for enabling GPU process isolation and providing better security.
