ARCH LINUX
For the first time in the history of OpenBenchmarking.org, Ubuntu Linux is about to be overtaken by another distribution as the most popular environment for conducting tests.

Over the past four years Ubuntu has been the most popular Linux distribution in use by Phoronix Test Suite users submitting results to OpenBenchmarking.org, a global, collaborative testing platform for result analysis. However, over the past year several months, Ubuntu's marketshare has been degrading...

Ubuntu's usage is down to just 39.0% while in the past it's been at least 50~60% usage. "Linux" is how Arch Linux and its derivatives usually ends up being shown by the Phoronix Test Suite based upon its release identifiers, but it's possible some other minor distributions not supplying proper LSB release information / etc release files / other means of detection could also end up as Linux though through all of my distribution tests this has only ever been the detection information for Arch-based distributions. The Arch category has rose to 37% -- it's all-time high. Debian and openSUSE also remain popular albeit in the minority. Others with measurable market-share include Fedora, LinuxMint, and wrlinux. This isn't a survey or random sampling but representative of all those who uploaded their benchmarking results to OpenBenchmarking.org over a given month. More of the OS statistics via this page.

When it comes to graphics driver usage, Intel continues dominating...

Then when it comes to processors, Intel CPUs have long dominated by far. AMD CPU usage comes in around the same level as those benchmarking from QEMU-based VMs.

Some other metrics... ASUS motherboards continue to be most popular while Seagate and Western Digital still duke it out for the most popular disk drive brand among Linux users benchmarking.

OpenBenchmarking.org hosts over 716k benchmark results and grows each day, offers nearly 500 different test profiles / benchmarks to Phoronix Test Suite users and more than 110 test suites, and contains information on more than 4,606,660 different computer component combinations/configurations.
