NOUVEAU
The Nouveau DDX driver now supports the Direct Rendering Infrastructure 3 when using its traditional EXA-based acceleration rather than only with GLAMOR.

This summer Nouveau added GLAMOR support in order to provide 2D acceleration for NVIDIA Maxwell GPUs since with future GPUs, Nouveau will only be enabling the 2D/X.Org support along GLAMOR and not the traditional, dedicated 2D code-paths. Nouveau's GLAMOR support will also work with older NVIDIA GPUs, but for using GLAMOR, it does require the X.Org Server built-in GLAMOR found in xorg-server 1.16+ rather than the independent GLAMOR library.

When working out the GLAMOR support in Nouveau this summer, developers enabled DRI3+Present support but it was only along the GLAMOR'ized code. Now, however, due to work by Maarten Lankhorst at Canonical, Nouveau supports DRI3 when not using GLAMOR.

The DRI3 (non-GLAMOR) support for Nouveau was merged this morning and will be found in the project's next release, xf86-video-nouveau 1.0.12.
