Days after branching Mesa 10.5, Emil Velikov went ahead today and put out the first release candidate for the upcoming Mesa 10.5.

Emil released Mesa 10.5 RC1 today and plans to issue weekly release candidates until officially releasing Mesa 10.5.0 on 6 March. The brief Mesa 10.5 RC1 release announcement can be found on the Mesa-dev list.

Mesa 10.5 only implements OpenGL 3.3 support and all of the changes and new features are outlined in the Phoronix articles as linked to from the introduction of this article. Overall it's another exciting quarterly update to Mesa but sadly still doesn't have the OpenGL 4.0~4.2 compliance.
