Similar to yesterday's look at the Linux kernel Git code with its nearly 20.8 million lines, I also ran some Git statistics on Mesa to see how its development numbers panned out for the year.

Mesa in 2015 saw 7,572 commits, which is the most its seen since 2010 when there was 12,268 commits as a result of much code restructuring and more. In 2011 through 2014 there were just 6100 to 7000 commits per year. It's nice to see Mesa development ticking up in 2015 and these 7,572 commits added 392,560 lines and removed 225,642 lines, or a net gain of 166,918 lines.

Mesa ended the year at nearly 1.7 million lines (1,694,484) spread over 4,709 files. Among the most prolific Mesa developers in 2015 were Ilia Mirkin, Emil Velikov, Marek Olšák, Francisco Jerez, Jason Ekstrand, Brian Paul, Ken Graunke, and Eric Anholt.

Marek Olšák himself was responsible for 8.9% of the commits in 2015. Mesa in total saw work from around 177 developers in 2015.

Those wanting to run through all of the GitStats on Mesa for 2015 can find all of the output here.
