Mesa Gets Improved For Running On Windows With Cygwin
Jon Turney has landed his big "Windows-DRI" patch-set in Mesa for improving the support when running GLX applications under under Cygwin. The patches provide direct-to-native-OpenGL for GLX clients running on Cygwin.
The 2,000+ lines of code implement the Windows-DRI extension protocol, a helper client library, and a Windows-specific DRI implementation for GLX clients. The GLX extensions are exposed based upon whether equivalent WGL extensions are available on the host system.
Those interested in learning more can see this Git commit.
Jon also submitted the patch today for adding the Windows-DRI extension to the X Server. It looks like it will still land in time for X.Org Server 1.19.
