A few months ago was a vibrant discussion about a Meson proposal for libdrm/Mesa while today the initial patches were posted in bringing a possible Meson build system port for Mesa.

Independent developer Dylan Baker has posted a set of four patches for supporting Meson within Mesa. The plan is to build the Meson support incrementally and initially supports using the Intel ANV Vulkan driver. Additionally is also RADV Vulkan driver support.

Initial results indicate the RADV/ANV Meson build is much faster than the Autotools and SCons builds.

More details via this mailing list post. Dylan is hoping to land the Meson support incrementally and to begin merging the initial support soon.
