MESA
One month ago AMD developer Marek Olsak sent out threaded OpenGL dispatch code for Mesa, which can be a big win for some games but unfortunately Marek is now too busy to handle the code. Fortunately, Collabora-turned-Valve developer Timothy Arceri has taken to getting this code vetted.

Now that Arceri has the RadeonSI shader cache support merged, he's taken to other projects for helping the open-source AMD Linux driver stack. Timothy Arceri has published a second version of the threaded GL dispatch code for Mesa. Since the version sent out one month the Piglit crashes have been fixed and Arceri has also addressed some feedback generated during the initial code review. The only missing piece is no EGL/GBM support yet.

More details via this patch series. The threaded OpenGL dispatch code will help select games like Borderlands 2, more details here. Hopefully we can see this code readied in time for Mesa 17.1 to make this next update even more exciting on the performance front.
