Thunderbird 45.0 is now available as the latest version of the Gecko-powered open-source email client.

Thunderbird 45.0 is the first email client update in a while from the Mozilla folks but sadly isn't too exciting. There are a few changed UI elements, various updates, etc. While Thunderbird 45 is compatible with the GTK3 tool-kit, like Firefox, GTK2 is being used by default with this release.

The official Thunderbird 45 release announcement has yet to hit the wire but you can get an idea for the changes via the earlier beta notes.

Thunderbird 45 is available for immediate download from the FTP servers.
