GNOME
It was ten years ago today that the GNOME project was born when Miguel de Icaza had announced the creation of this free software desktop environment that ultimately would go head-to-head with KDE. Congratulations to the GNOME team with a very successful ten years! Marking the birthday of GNOME is also the first beta for GNOME 2.20.0 (GNOME 2.19.90). The beta announcement should be on the wire shortly along with the GARNOME 2.19.90 package. We are just over a month away from the release of GNOME 2.20.0!
