Prolific Nouveau contributor Samuel Pitoiset has now enabled compute support by default for NVIDIA GK110 GPUs and newer.

Previously the Nouveau NVC0 Gallium3D driver's compute shader support was turned on for limited GPUs but now it's been set to be on unconditionally.

Samuel wrote with today's commit, "Compute support seems to be pretty stable now, and according to piglit it doesn't seem to break 3D state. As a side effect, this will expose ARB_compute_shader on GK110/GK208."

The GK110 is the GeForce GTX 780 and Titan series. The GK208 represents the lowest-end GeForce 700 Kepler GPUs like the GT 710/720/730. The ARB_compute_shader support for more NVIDIA GPUs on Nouveau NVC0 move those GPUs a step closer to being able to support OpenGL 4.3.
