NVIDIA 367.18 Beta Linux Driver Released With Many Fixes
This is their first driver in the 367.xx series for Linux, but it's not a huge new feature stream. Rather, the 367 driver is mostly centered around fixes following the big NVIDIA 364 driver series that brought KMS support, mainline Vulkan support, Wayland/Mir support, and much more.
Fixed up so far in the NVIDIA 367 Linux series are many OpenGL fixes, a few crash fixes, some G-SYNC improvements, working hot-plugging / waking from sleep for HDMI 2.0 4K displays, and more. The NVIDIA 367.18 driver also pulls in an updated version of the GLVND library (libglvnd), raises the NVIDIA Unified Virtual Memory kernel module base to Linux 2.6.32 or newer, and there's also a new OpenGL extension: NV_robustness_video_memory_purge. The NV_robustness_video_memory_purge extension allows applications/games to know when FBOs and buffer objects in video memory were purged due to a mode switch or power event.
The NVIDIA 367.18 Linux driver doesn't explicitly mention any Pascal support for the new GTX 1070 and GTX 1080, but I believe that's in there too. The next driver release though should officially mention this new graphics card support.
