After Valve announced their Steam Link streaming device, NVIDIA announced the Shield set-top box.

The NVIDIA Shield brand has up to now encompassed their handheld game console and gaming tablet, both of which were powered by Android, while now they've extended their high-end gaming brand to include a set-top box.

NVIDIA's Shield Set-Top Box will be powered by Android TV, support 4K resolutions, offer microSD and USB 3.0 storage, and will be powered by their latest Tegra X1 SoC. The Tegra X1 SoC makes this hardware quite exciting. Stay tuned for more updates on this new NVIDIA Shield product.
